Frequently asked questions
Which phones does DuoOS support?
DuoOS is built and tuned on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, with every size and corner measured for both screens. It runs on Android 10 and later, and works best on book-style foldables.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. Open DuoOS and it is yours.
What is free, and what is Pro?
The core is free forever: Home, dock, folders, App Library, search, Notification Center, the basic Control Center, the Classic style, fold animations and the basic widgets. Pro adds the Duo, Classic Spread and Left-Handed styles, widget stacks and more widgets, icon styles, extra controls, Focus modes and signature wallpapers.
How does the free trial work?
New subscribers to the Yearly plan get 14 days of Pro free. DuoOS reminds you before the trial ends. Cancel in Google Play before then and you will not be charged.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › DuoOS Pro › Cancel. Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
I bought Pro. How do I restore it on a new phone?
Sign in to Google Play with the same Google account and install DuoOS. Pro comes back on its own; if it doesn’t, open DuoOS Pro in Settings and tap Restore Purchases.
Why does DuoOS ask for accessibility access?
Only if you turn on Duo Gestures. It lets Control Center and Notification Center open over other apps and react to the volume buttons. It uses which app is open and a snapshot of the screen kept in memory, never saved, to blur behind Control Center. It never reads passwords, and nothing it sees leaves your phone.
How do I move my Home Screen from my old phone?
Connect your old phone to your Fold with a USB-C cable and choose Transfer With a Cable. Your pages and folders come across, and apps you do not have yet are skipped. Nothing goes through the internet. The app tells you if your old phone is supported.
What is Full Experience?
An optional, reversible setup that lets DuoOS hide duplicate system status icons and pop-ups, and switch Low Power, Eye Comfort and Location in place. It uses the free Shizuku app to grant one Android permission, once. Skip it and everything else works the same.
I uninstalled DuoOS and my status icons or pop-ups are missing
With Full Experience on, DuoOS hides your phone’s own status bar icons and pop-ups so nothing appears twice. It puts them back when you turn Full Experience off, when it stops being your Home Screen, when Duo Gestures is turned off, and when you use Settings › General › Remove DuoOS. An uninstall started straight from Google Play or App Info gives an app no chance to run, so the icons can stay hidden.
The quickest fix (about a minute)
- Install DuoOS again from Google Play. You don’t need to set it up.
- Open DuoOS Settings › General › Remove DuoOS. It brings your icons and pop-ups back, then uninstalls.
Without reinstalling
- Status bar icons (clock, battery, Wi-Fi, signal): open Good Lock › QuickStar (free from the Galaxy Store), find the status bar icon list and turn each icon back on. A restart does not bring them back by itself.
- Notification icons: Settings › Notifications › Status bar, then choose how notification icons are shown.
- Pop-ups: Settings › Notifications › Notification pop-up style, then choose Brief or Detailed. Menu names can differ a little between software versions.
Using a computer (always works)
With USB debugging on, run:
adb shell settings delete secure icon_blacklist
adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 1The first command shows every status bar icon again, including any you had hidden yourself.
Does it change my phone’s settings?
Your layout, pages and widgets live inside DuoOS. To go back, set another Home app in Android Settings › Apps › Default apps › Home app.
Is DuoOS made by Samsung?
No. DuoOS is an independent app, not affiliated with Samsung or any other phone maker. Galaxy is a trademark of Samsung Electronics.
